Privacy notice

Draft: to be reviewed and completed by the organiser before launch.

Who we are

Nobody Stands Alone is a volunteer initiative that connects veterans with recruits who would otherwise have no one at their passing-out parade. [Organiser name and contact email to be added.]

What we collect

Volunteers: name, email, phone, region and nearest town, branch of service, regiment or corps, years of service, the establishments you can attend and anything you choose to tell us.

Requests: the requester's name, role and contact details, the parade date and establishment, the regiment or corps the recruit is joining and, optionally, the recruit's first name.

We do not store copies of ID documents or criminal record checks. If we verify a volunteer's service, we record only that it was checked.

Why we use it

Only to match volunteers with parades and to contact people about them. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.

Who sees it

Only the organiser. When a match is made, the volunteer and the requester are given each other's contact details. We never sell or share data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Request details are deleted after the parade has taken place. Volunteer details are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
